Why Not? Giclee Print
Recently, much to our surprise, our printer found these missing prints from this original 2005 edition in our archive drawer. We are happy to make these remaining numbers available to our collectors. The last print we sold from this edition in 2014 sold for $2,000. These 25 prints we have available are offered at $2,200.
Why Not? limited edition giclee print is printed on a uniquely lustrous, glossy watercolor paper, boasting exceptionally rich colors. The original painting, Why Not? was painted in 2005, and was included in Kenton Nelson’s 2005 show at the Pasadena Museum of California Art in Pasadena, California.
Why Not? depicts a mannerly man, sitting patiently at a bus stop, in front of a massive billboard advertisement of a beautiful smiling woman. The color palette and style hearkens back to the advertisements of Nelson’s youth. As usual, the rest of the story is up to you, the viewer.

“I am a product of the Age of Advertising in the 50’s and 60’s when thankfully the images were about beauty, promise, and a hope for the future.” -Kenton Nelson
A portion of the proceeds from this print will support Door of Hope. Door of Hope is a “teach a man to fish” organization that helps homeless families get back on their feet.
