For over a year I have worked on these paintings, inspired by Ed Ruscha’s photographic art book, ‘Nine Swimming Pools’ from the 1960’s. I thought it would be interesting to paint 30— 12 x 12 inch swimming pools. My world, reflected in the surface of a pool.” —Kenton Nelson, December 2021
